Here we are, back in Charleroi! Everything went well… Thank you to all the pilots who made this flying trip possible!

Saturday 10 November 2012

We are in France, in the beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne (LFMK)! We hope to reach our base, Charleroi, tomorrow evening…..and this will be the end of the trip…..

Friday 9 November 2012

Good evening everyone!

After a stop for the night yesterday in Almeria (LEAM) in La Costa del Sol in Spain, we are now in Palma de Mallorca (LESB), after a long flight of 4h12 and crossing the sea between the continent and the Baleares islands at 1000 feet above sea level due to a ceiling of clouds at 1200 feet!

There is no much sun in the area at the moment but we still have a lot of fun and enjoy the flights very much!

We aim to land somewhere in the south of France tomorrow…. Let’s hope for better weather!

Wednesday 7 November 2012

Sorry for the silence in the last days, it has been very difficult to find good wifi or 3G connection as we were flying in the south of Morocco and in the Sahara….

After a stop for one night in Ouarzazate last Saturday, we have been heading east towards the first sand dunes of the Sahara and flying in the anti-Atlas mountains to Zagora (GMAZ). We have then continued further south to Tan-Tan (GMAT) and Laayoune (GMML), in the desert. We are now back in the north of Morocco, in Rabat (GMME) and hope to join Spain tomorrow. We have seen the most beautiful sceneries ever in the last days and feel very lucky for all this.

Saturday 3 November 2012

We are in Ouarzazate (GMMZ)! After a beautiful flight above the Moroccan Atlas, we landed in the middle of the mountains in Ouarzazate! The objective tomorrow is to fly close to the Algerian border….

Friday 2 November 2012

It is in the beautiful little town of Essaouira (GMMI) that we will stop for the night, a much stronger headwind than expected having prevented us from flying as far as Ouarzazate before the sunset (VFR at night is prohibited in Morocco). This is with no regret though, the town is gorgeous and the formation flights along the Atlantic coastline were great fun!

Thursday 1 November 2012

We are now all in Rabat (GMME)! We move slowly towards the south of Morocco and will try to cross the Atlas Mountains and reach Ouarzazate tomorrow, if the weather conditions allow us! Inch’Allah…..

Wednesday 31 October 2012

The group is again in Spain, in Jerez de la Frontera / Cadiz (LEJR), where they stopped for the night yesterday. We hope that the sky will clear up and that we can be in Morocco by tonight! More news later on…..

15.00h — Landed in Tanger! Impossible to flying further down. Morocco is currently stuck in serious bad weather. At least, Africa has been reached, and the atmosphere is at it’s best!

Monday 29 October 2012

22.00h — Lisbon (LPPT) was reached today just before sunset! Tomorrow, the aim is to cross the straight of Gibraltar and be in Africa! Weather forecast is not good though….we’ll do our best! I will publish some pictures of the day later on…

15.00h — Our two PA28s landed around lunch time today in Porto (LPPR), in Portugal! This is the first time we cross the Portuguese territory; the weather conditions never allowed us to do so before on our way to Morocco….

The aim is to reach Lisbon before sunset today…. more pics and news this evening!

Sunday 28 October 2012

20.30h – The group has now reached Asturias (LEAS) and will stop there for the night. Viva España!

12.00h – Today’s first scheduled stop is Biarritz (LFBZ). Final destination will be decided according to the weather forecast….

In the meantime, a few pictures of:

– the castle of Chambord in France,

– arrival at twilight in La Rochelle (LFBH), and

– the old port of La Rochelle at dawn.

Saturday 27 October 2012

Off we go and Morocco here we come! Our two 4-seater airplanes left Charleroi (EBCI) today and reached the first airfield of the trip, La Rochelle, in France (LFBH), with 20kts cross wind!

Six pilots participate to the first leg of the trip: Cédric and Frédéric, instructors, and Bartosz, Franck, Marc and Valérie.
